Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Bratislava, 2012

The text reads: "A stronger Slovakia", "It starts with (hard) work", or it can also mean "It starts with jobs (for Slovaks)". KDH are using the same message of job creation on all their billboards with different candidates. Lukáš Pokorný is number 51 on the KDH candidate list, so he stands almost no chance of entering parliament through the party vote share. He needs to convince voters to circle his name on the ballot to increase his position.

Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Bratislava, 2010

The message reads: "The right way, not the wrong direction", "On Saturday June 12th vote for number 13 - KDH". This is a clever slogan, since it makes it clear that voting for SMER (which means 'direction') is the wrong choice and that voters should choose 'the right way', echoing KDH's main slogan 'We are the way...".

Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Bratislava, 2010

The text reads: "Those who vote for Fico are also voting for Slota and Mečiar", "On Saturday June 12th vote for number 13, KDH". While SMER was running ads accusing the SDKU of wanting to form a coalition with the Hungarian party SMK, this ad from KDH appeared which reminded voters of the other possible coalition, a continuation of the SMER-led government which included SNS and HZDS. Although it is an attack ad, I think this is quite an effective message and could have been used to greater effect if KDH had started using it earlier in the campaign.

Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Bratislava, 2010

The text reads: "The way is more than the direction". This is a rather clever expression, since it implies that KDH and their slogan "We are the way" is better than their rival SMER (which means direction). The KDH phrase "We are the way" also has a religious connotation which connects well with their Christian conservative party values.

Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Žiar nad Hronom, 2010

The text reads: "We are the way for the natural environment". Žiar nad Hronom is a grimy industrial town in central Slovakia, hence KDH's message of promoting environmental protection (mixed with their platform of Christian conservatism) would likely go down well there.

Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Bratislava, 2010

The text reads: "This government has increased unemployment" (referring to the government then led by Robert Fico and SMER) and "We are the way for hardworking people".

Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - Bratislava, 2010

The text of the upper sign reads: "We are the way to patriotism without hatred" (a clear attack on the extreme SNS brand of Slovak nationalism). The lower sign reads: "We are the way for Slovakia" "vote number 13" (the number on the ballot paper).
